Donegall Road PS

Donegall Road Primary School is a bright, modern building situated in Maldon Street, off Donegall Road. There are 215 pupils, 15 teachers (including the Principal and job share classes) and ten support staff.

Accommodation consists of ten classrooms, one of which houses our computer suite. We also have two Special Needs rooms, a well equipped library and an assembly hall with an extensive range of physical education apparatus.

All classrooms have an Interactive Whiteboard. There are two playgrounds, one for P1-3 and one for P4-7. In addition we have a separate 'soft-tiled' P1 play area. In line with the Revised Curriculum we believe in giving our pupils the best possible start to their education.

We continuously strive to improve standards in Literacy and Numeracy through careful planning and implementation of the curriculum.

Parents are encouraged to be involved with their children's education and are kept well informed through interviews, meetings and newssheets. Great emphasis is placed on the partnership of parents and school.

The school has a very active, supportive Parents/Staff Association. School meals are served in the Assembly Hall. Children who take packed lunches are supervised by their own teacher in their classroom. As a matter of safety we insist that children either take school dinners, packed lunches or go home for their lunch.
